Sitting pretty at the edge of Malibu Pier is a cafe that’s made a name for itself serving deliciously innovative organic dishes. Malibu Farm was packed to the brim when we headed there for lunch, but the efficient system in place meant a reasonable wait. My favourites were definitely the mustard chicken and salmon, both packed with flavour and fried / baked to a satisfying consistency. Also made a mental note to recreate broccoli mash!!! With more broccoli of course, I love it so much; it gives a wonderfully subtle flavour to the otherwise typical mashed potatoes. I’m not sure what breed of arugula is used either, it isn’t as spicy or as spiky in appearance as the ones we’re used to here, but I love it a lot and it’s a pity I’ll probably not be able to get my hands on it anytime soon. For the mandatory dessert course we couldn’t make up our minds so we got both olive oil yogurt and the grilled chocolate cake, the latter I preferred more with its delightfully crispy caramalised crust encasing a moist and decadent chocolate pound-ish cake. The former was slightly oily which made it hard to take more than a couple of bites at a time. Huge thanks to Rachy who Yelp-ed this place – come for the views (especially at sunset!), stay for the food.
