Singapore: Creamier Ice Cream

DSC00838Creamier’s legendary waffles need no introduction. I’ve only ever tried the pistachio flavour – all full of nutty and intense pistachio goodness, and hence let Amos have the honour of selecting our waffles’ crowning glory. Sea salt gula melaka and roasted pistachio it was! Atop two very crispy waffle squares, which I thought were a little too hard for my liking, lacking that chewy interior. Hearsay confesses that the waffles and ice cream used to be higher in quality, i.e. with more richness in flavour and consistency in texture. It’s such a pity that owners compromise on quality for profit, and new startups attractive in authenticity will soon pop up to capture the hearts of the public. That’s how Creamier started out, anyway. Perhaps they’re just stretching themselves too thin with the opening of Sunday Folks as well? That’s something to wait and see.

  1. Shame that the quality has dropped- but I think I will pay a visit to Creamier anyways during my trip to Singapore next week, seeing as Hong Kong doesn’t really have any worthy waffle places to offer!

    1. If you have time in the afternoon to spare, perhaps you want to take a look at Sunday Folks. It’s opened by the people behind Creamier as well but use soft serve ice cream instead. I’ve heard it’s quite delicious as well!
